More Hate Productions presents the CD edition of the ninth full-length album by this one-man project from Donetsk, released on the Internet back in May 2023. It would be no exaggeration to call it the most epic work of the project so far. And it is not for the timing (61 minute!) and the abundant use of keys. The epicism lies in song structures, riffing and arrangements. The latter add a special charm to the overall picture. The sound of the album referes to the classics of the second wave of black metal from the mid 90s. According to the mastermind of the project, this sound was one of the main objectives for the album, and it was not easy to achieve. As for the material itself, the general concept has remained in the wake of melodic black metal, yet not devoid of a significant experimental component, like it has always been before. This time the project experimented with arrangements by adding some doom metal inclusions and the frequent use of acoustic guitars, that have never been characteristic of HAISSEM. Add to this a non-tirvial approach to song structure. The mixture of genres used on ‘Ad Cor Tenebrarum’ could not have been more relevant when it comes to seemingly frightening length of the songs. It will not let you get bored for a second. Strongly recommended to all fans of black metal, especially to those nostalgic about the Great School of the 90s.
