The debut album by NECRONOIR (Belarus) titled ‘Death Above All’. Four grim figures against the landscape made of skeletons are looking at you from the album cover. The release had initially been dedicated to the Horsemen of Apocalypse, however the development of this theme resulted in a deeper interpretation of these characters as seen from the album cover art. The album consists of four gloomy anthems at the junction of black metal and blackened death metal. The arrangements filled with dungeon synth atmosphere, rattling evil beats, melodicism and variety of tempos, growling and mordacious vocals conjure the images of inhospitable emotionally rich landscapes of battles, death and destruction. The lyrics not only present the new understanding of the Horsemen of Apocalypse thing, but praise deadly phenomena and creatures that were claiming human lives throughout the ages. Moreover, the band decided to make each character a personality both music- and lyrics-wise. 4 songs, 4 heralds of death, praising it with their odes and anthems that will resonate in the hearts of all fans of the genre...
