The last album of the Russian black metal band. ‘The End’ is a logical conclusion of the band’s creative activity. This album is a result of more than twenty years of experiments, creative endeavor and evolution of melodic black/thrash metal sound. According to Swarm, the mastermind of HAGL, on this album he calls it a day. It can be heard both in the lyrics and in the music. It’s a quintessence of the times when his projects were active, and of the music with an atmosphere he was passionate about. Almost ten years later he realizes this work was prophetic both on a personal and global levels. All songs share the same dark aesthetics and deep existential problematics, be it the apocalypse resulting from technological disasters, wars and total destruction, or a dedication to a fallen friend. Regardless of the subject, the lyrics are filled with metaphors, contrasts and mythological allusions. Despite the gloomy atmosphere, there is a hidden hope in the lyrics, because all things in nature are cyclical, and the end is the beginning of something new.
