JJ Project band

J.J. PROJECT is formed in November 2017 by Jevgeniy (J.J.) Jukov (bass) soon after disbanding of his previous project TINNIT (thrash metal). Another members of early J.J. PROJECT are Alexander ‘Spartak’ Lipsky and Roman ‘Ilyich’ Butov from DIPLODOCUS - a hardcore project that reached a plateau of growth. Soon Anatoliy Vorobyev, a young and promicing musician, joins on guitar. In six months this line-up composes four new songs. Unfortunately, on May 31, 2018 Jevgeniy Jukov passes away on the background of chronic diseases. All demos recorded by Jevgeny either on bass or guitar were named JJ ORCHESTRA. However a thrash metal band can hardly be called an orchestra. Thus, the band becomes J.J. PROJECT (The project of Jevgeniy Jukov). In the beginning of 2021 the band commences the recording of its debut album, however some technical issues and the COVID-19 outbreak extend the process over the year and make it more complicated. On May 5, 2022 ‘Ognyem i Mechom’ (With fire and sword) is released on all digital platforms. This album is recorded almost in one take (except for the vocals and solos). September 2022 Anatoliy Vorobyev quits the band, and Vladislav Agafonov, another young guitarist, joins it in November. With its Russian-language old-school thrash metal J.J. PROJECT plays numerous shows in its howmetown, participates Moscow festivals and supports famous bands. Besides playing live, the musicians compose and record new songs for their second, even more formidable album.
