BANDS
FROSTBOUND

Frostbound was formed in February 2023 somewhere in the vastness of Novorossiya. Since then, the lineup has remained unchanged, consisting of two mysterious figures, Wolfhart and Forester. It seems that they met somewhere in the forest… The band bypassed the demo-recording phase and immediately moved on to creating full-length albums. Rumor has it that one of them was once spotted in the Donetsk black metal scene, but that was a long time ago, and it may not be true. Though it is obvious that the musicians have experience. Shortly afterward, in 2024, the band recorded their debut LP "Eternal Torment", which, alongside "Gloomy Dreams", is being released right now by the Moscow label GS Productions. The style of the first album differs significantly from the second, leaning more towards French Post-Black Metal, though with some notable deviations. Essentially, it is a cross-genre work that delves into the psycho-mental aspects of a person living in a large, soulless metropolis—someone who feels loneliness and is trapped in depression. The second album moves away from these themes, instead calling on subconscious fears. "Gloomy Dreams" was recorded in early 2025 and, in May, will be released alongside the first album by three Russian labels in a joint release (More Hate, Donetsk’s Arx Productions, and Novorossiya’s Fresh Meat). At the moment, the band remains an exclusively studio project, reluctant to engage with the public and unwilling to give interviews. The musicians have chosen to share their dark emotions and fantasies with the listeners, remaining in the shadows. This secretive approach is reminiscent of how Summoning operated in the early stages of their musical career. Only time will tell what the future holds for the bands development, but for now, this project is worth paying attention to.
