Debut full-length album of the duo from Kaliningrad formed on the ruins of the famous Russian band HOLDAAR (2004-2017) that has 10 albums in its discography. REGNAT HORRENDUM can be called a natural development of music and ideas created and explored by the legendary band. However the music of REGNAT HORRENDUM is more diverse and capable of touching feelings of not only pagan metal fans but also true black metal adepts. This album absorbs the best aspects of both genres. Symphonic pathetics, military marches and Slavonic folk themes are combined with fast aggressive guitar lines and cold esthetics of black metal. Everything is well thought-out and recorded. Mighty sound is topped with distinctive sharp scream of ex-HOLDAAR vocalist alternating with his deep-chested growls. Russian-language lyrics give another competitive edge to this album.
