This two-man band from Russia plays Death Metal with lyrics focusing on ancient Aztec civilizations. Uitzilopóchtli is a pretty interesting and well-executed record all in all, with relatively atmospheric and powerful parts squeezed into the songs. Some distant references to bands like a stripped-down version from Niles early material could be made, and even Dimmu Borgir for some haunting and darkish guitar riffs (check out "Atonatiuh", which reminds me a bit of "Sorgens Kammer"). Their Death Metal works surprisingly well, and there is little to complain about here. The vocal lines are basically your average, deep Death Metal grunts, which are "just ok" for the most part.
